Privacy Policy

Fryer & Feast is published by Iron Mako Media and operates at fryerandfeast.com. This policy explains what happens to information when you visit.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read, which links are clicked, and roughly where readers come from. It collects your approximate location (city level, from your IP address), your device and browser, the pages you view, and the links you click, including clicks on affiliate buttons. It is configured to use IP anonymization.

We use this in aggregate to decide what to write next. We do not build profiles of individual readers and we have no way to identify you from it.

The contact form

If you use our contact form, we receive the name, email address, subject and message you enter. That is delivered to our inbox by email and used only to reply to you. It is not added to a mailing list and not shared with anyone.

The form records the time the page loaded and includes a hidden field that real visitors never fill in. Both are anti-spam measures and neither identifies you.

Server logs

Our hosting provider keeps standard request logs (IP address, timestamp, page requested, user agent) for security and abuse prevention. We do not use them for analytics.

• No payment information — we are not a retailer and sell nothing
• No newsletter list
• No advertising network trackers or retargeting pixels
• We never sell or rent data to anyone

Analytics cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish one visit from another. You can block them with a browser setting, an extension, or Google’s own opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Affiliate cookies. When you follow a buy link, the retailer — Amazon — sets a cookie on its own domain so it can attribute a purchase back to us. That cookie is set by the retailer under its own privacy policy, not by us, and it typically expires within 24 hours. We never see who bought what; we see only an aggregate commission report.

Our own /go/ redirect sets no cookie and stores nothing. It exists so that the affiliate tag lives in one auditable place.

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be deleted, or ask us to stop processing it. In practice, unless you have emailed us, we almost certainly hold nothing that identifies you. Email mike@blackironathletics.com and we will answer.

You can also opt out of analytics entirely using the Google opt-out add-on above, or any browser setting that blocks third-party scripts. The site works perfectly well without it.

This site is written for adults buying cooking equipment. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

If we change how any of this works, we will update this page and move the date at the top. The commercial relationship behind the site is explained separately in our affiliate disclosure.
